Details:
Our client is a major government utility that has an ongoing need for quality SQL server specialists.
The work utilised Database design, T-SQL, DTS and other SQL Server related skills. You will be required to pass SQL server skills on to other collegues, maintain the development and test SQL server installation and organise SQL server release code through environments.
Mandatory Skills
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Microsft SQL Server DBA or SQL Server development DBA with experience with T-SQL and DTS
- Extensive knowledge with logical and physical database design
- Experience with performance tuning, replication, clustering and SAN (Storage Area Networks)
- Experience with defining development standards and best practice procedures
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent liaison (user and technical,), communication and documetnation skills
- Must have the ability to work individually and as a team member, and be prepared to work extra hours as requested to meet tight deadlines
Desirable Skills
- Database integration skills with non-Microsoft databases
- DB2/Coolgen experience on OS390 advantageous
- MCDBA certification
- ASP.net C# development background
